Originally from South Africa, Yolandie studied hospitality management with a work experience program giving her the opportunity to spend time in Florida, USA as well as working in 5 star hotels in Cape Town. Yolandie started as a management trainee for a hotel then worked in marketing, administration and event planning for a hotel school.
Yolandie moved to Australia seven years ago, taking up a Guest Services Agent role with Spicers Balfour Hotel – a luxury, boutique property in Brisbane. Yolandie has since had the opportunity to progress into other roles including Front Office Manager, Acting General Manager and then Assistant General Manager.
Now, as the Group Sales Coordinator for Spicers Retreats, Yolandie’s role focuses on assisting the national sales team with proposals and managing day events for eight Spicers Retreats properties. Yolandie enjoys being able to share Spicer’s unique locations, destinations and experiences with visitors.

Having studied a Bachelor of Hospitality Management and an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality, Yolandie has carved out an exciting career across a range of roles in tourism. These roles include guest services, front office management, event management and sales. Yolandie enjoys working in tourism as it gives her the opportunity to share unique destinations with visitors and play a part in creating memorable moments.
