William’s passion and commitment to Indigenous tourism is inspiring.

William started his career as an Indigenous dancer, musician and storyteller at the Rainforestation Nature Park near Kuranda, Far North Queenland.

After spending time in the sports sector, William returned to the tourism industry as Sales Executive and Cultural Development Officer at the CaPTA Group, which offers a diverse range of tourism experiences in North Queensland.

William is well recognised for his commitment to the development of Indigenous tourism in Far North Queensland, and has helped to develop the Tropical North Queensland (TNQ) Indigenous Tourism Brand, ‘Timeless Experiences’.

He was also awarded the Young Achiever Excellence Award at the TNQ Tourism Industry Awards, and appears regularly as a guest speaker at the Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s Indigenous Forums.

A career journey spanning indigenous cultural experiences and the sports sector led William to tourism, where he was offered a traineeship in sales and marketing, and the opportunity to study a Certificate III in Tourism, at the CaPTA Group in Cairns.

William is now the company’s Sales Executive and Cultural Development Officer and is studying for a Diploma in Tourism.

He has been recognised for his contribution to indigenous tourism in North Queensland and for his mentoring of indigenous youth.
