Tariq grew up in Zimbabwe where he worked in his family’s restaurant and has since developed an impressive career in international hotel management.
After gaining qualifications in hospitality management, Tariq began his career as a trainee hotel manager in Zimbabwe and then moved to the UK where he initially worked for the Hilton Group before spending eight years at Stoke Park, an award-winning luxury hotel/country club. Over this period, Tariq climbed the ranks through roles that included Conference and Banqueting Manager and Food and Beverage Manager.
He then moved to Australia to continue his career as the Food and Beverage Manager at Hamilton Island Yacht Club where he oversees all food and beverage outlets, drives revenue management programs and provides leadership and training to staff.
Tariq’s achievements have been recognised with numerous awards including the Employee of the Year Award 2014 from the Stoke Park Hotel and the Meikles Hotel Trainee Manager of the Year Award in 2007.

After undertaking a degree in Hospitality Management, Tariq started his hotel management career in Zimbabwe before moving to a 5-star luxury hotel/country club in the UK and then moving to Australia. He is an experienced professional in all aspects of conference and banquet management and food and beverage management and is passionate about mentoring young people and sharing his passion for tourism to recruit the younger generation.
